Take your Arabic to the next level with experienced native Levantine Arabic teachers, online or in person. Our Intermediate Levantine Arabic Lessons are for learners who already have a basic foundation and want to strengthen their speaking, listening, vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and overall fluency.
The lessons revolve around practical communication and real situations. You will learn to hold longer conversations, share opinions, describe experiences, talk about plans, understand common expressions, and speak more naturally with native speakers from Palestine, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon.
Whether you already live in the Levant, are getting ready to travel, volunteer, work, or study there, want to connect with family, or simply want more confidence when speaking Arabic, our flexible lessons, online or at our centers in Hebron, Amman, and Damascus, adapt to your goals and schedule.

What Is Intermediate Levantine Arabic?
Intermediate lessons are for learners who know basic vocabulary, common phrases, and simple sentence patterns and now want to communicate with more ease.
At this stage, you move past short exchanges and begin using Levantine Arabic in longer, more spontaneous situations. The focus is spoken Arabic (Ammiya), and you can continue with Levantine Arabic in general or concentrate on the Palestinian, Jordanian, Syrian, or Lebanese variety.
You will practice through realistic conversations and scenarios drawn from daily life, travel, work, social situations, volunteering, family, and culture.

What Will You Learn?
Your intermediate lessons are shaped around your current level and your goals. Depending on what you need, they may cover:
- Conversation and speaking practice
- Levantine vocabulary and expressions
- Listening comprehension
- Pronunciation and natural rhythm
- Intermediate grammar and sentence patterns
- Verb forms and common tenses
- Asking and answering questions naturally
- Describing people, places, and experiences
- Giving opinions and preferences
- Talking about the past and the future
- Understanding everyday expressions
- Reading and writing Arabic when needed
- Communication for travel and daily life
- Arabic for work and professional settings
- Arabic for volunteering and community work
- Culture and everyday communication in the Levant
The goal is to help you understand and speak Levantine Arabic comfortably in real situations.
Build Your Conversation Skills
Conversation takes center stage at the intermediate level. Rather than studying isolated words and rules, you practice using Arabic in full, flowing conversations.
Your teacher guides you through familiar and more challenging topics, helping you explain your ideas, tell stories, describe what happened, ask follow-up questions, and respond more naturally.
Regular speaking practice also gets you used to the speed, pronunciation, vocabulary, and expressions native speakers use. If you study in person, you can also practice these skills with local people outside the classroom.
Levantine Arabic and Its Varieties
Levantine Arabic (Shami) brings together four closely related varieties: Palestinian, Jordanian, Syrian, and Lebanese Arabic.
At the intermediate level, you can keep building a broad Levantine foundation that works across the whole region, or you can go deeper into one variety and its typical vocabulary and pronunciation.
If you mainly want to communicate with people from one country, we recommend focusing on that variety so your lessons can center on the words, expressions, and situations that matter most to you.
Personalized Intermediate Lessons
Every learner has different goals, so our intermediate lessons are shaped around you.
Your teacher adjusts the lessons to your:
- Current Arabic level
- Learning goals
- Interests
- Professional needs
- Travel plans
- Preferred learning style
- Available study time
- Areas that need extra practice
You can concentrate mainly on conversation or choose a balanced mix of speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, and grammar.
