Program Dates and Flexibility
The Summer Syrian Arabic program in Damascus, Syria is an immersive language learning experience that will take place from June to late September 2025. This program provides participants with a unique opportunity to learn Arabic in an authentic and immersive environment, while also experiencing the rich culture and history of Syria.
The Summer Syrian Arabic immersion program 2025 is designed to be flexible, allowing participants to choose when they would like to participate. Starting on the 1st day of each month (June, July, August, and September), there are three 4-week sessions available. This means that if you desire, you can spend up to three months living and studying Arabic with us here at Study Levantine Arabic School.

- Fees include breakfast, accommodation, Arabic classes, as well as some visits to different institutions in the city of Damascus. For example, visits may include the old city of Damascus, glass and ceramic factories, local companies, refugee camps, and public parks, as well as local universities.
Students in all of our Arabic Summer Immersion Program are free to add additional Arabic language hours. Each hour costs 25 euros. If you are interested in adding extra hours, please mention this in your email, and we will be more than happy to organize them for you.
A Complete Arabic Immersion Experience
The Arabic Summer Immersion Program offered by Study Levantine Arabic School enhances your relationship with the Arabic language through comprehensive immersion in Syrian life and culture.
For this reason, summer intensive Arabic classes are taught fully in Arabic, and students are invited to engage in cultural events and site visits organized by the center. This allows you to practice your language abilities in natural situations while also connecting with the local communities of Damascus and the surronding area.
During your stay in Damascus, you will not only be immersed in Syrian culture, politics, and daily life, but you will gain exposure to the current human rights conditions of Syrian refugees. Through organized visits to local refugee camps, Syrian universities, Bedouin areas, and local families, our programs provide not only Arabic language instruction but also meaningful engagement with life in Syria. These visits play a crucial role in the program’s curriculum, providing students with insight into the culture and politics of daily life.
A Wide Range of Arabic Dialects
Our Summer Intensive Arabic program in Syria covers a wide range of Arabic dialects, including:

In addition, the Study Levantine Arabic School also offers each dialect in varying levels of difficulty, including starters, beginners, intermediates, and advanced learners. With 80 hours of Arabic language instruction per monthly session (4 weeks), you will study your desired dialect for four hours a day, five days a week.

We keep class sizes small (1-3 students per class) to ensure quality instruction and personalized support. Our native Syrian teachers have years of experience and use up-to-date methodologies. Courses are designed to maximize student engagement and progress.
Arabic Program Structure
The Arabic Summer Immersion Program in Syria offers Arabic classes for all levels (Starter, Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced) held five days a week. Two days a week are dedicated to field trips in and around Damascus, all conducted in Arabic.

Eligibility
This Arabic Summer Immersion Program in Syria is open to students, undergraduates, graduates, retirees, Arabic learners, and mature students with an academic background. English-language fluency is also required and you must be between 16-70 years old to apply.
Language Proficiency Level
We offer a full Arabic curriculum (with books and all course materials included), at six different levels to accommodate students of all language experiences and proficiencies, including:
● Starter Arabic Courses
For those without prior knowledge of the Arabic language, this course provides a foundation in reading and writing Arabic, as well as understanding and engaging in simple, daily conversations.
● Beginner Arabic Courses
The beginner Arabic courses are offered at two levels: Beginner I and Beginner II. These Arabic lessons are designed for participants who already possess a basic knowledge of Arabic and wish to develop further their speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills.
● Intermediate Arabic Courses
The intermediate Arabic courses are also offered at two levels: Intermediate I and Intermediate II. In addition to improving your reading, writing, and listening skills, these lessons provide you with the opportunity to engage in Arabic conversations with native speakers.
● Advanced Arabic Courses
At this level, you will focus on refining and perfecting your speaking and writing skills, utilizing sophisticated and technical vocabulary. In this course, learners will be able to lead dynamic discussions about complex topics.
